***Possible SPOILERS***I have a read a couple of books by Leabhair, in particular her Rags to Riches series that I remember enjoying. Browsing kU, this book caught my attention even though rape and sexual violencd books always make me cringe. I am a reader who likes the angsty, sappy, happy, everything miraculously falls into place books. This is not technically that but I am glad to report that the graphics of any sexual assualt was not depitcted. The book is told from two pov and the chapters go back and forth between the 2MCs.***Spoilers Slightly So Beware***The jist of the story is that there is an underground sex trafficing ring and the HPD and the FBI are trying to shut it down but surprise, surprise there is a mole amongst the group. These type always make for a good type of story, with my limited experience reading them. I think I would have liked it better if the characters, Sister Emily, the nuns, Father Mathew, and maybe an unknown was invovled in the crimes. Like they were linked more either directly or even as a casualty of it all. The elimination of these guys was too quick. I also found that the MC who shall remained unnamed was quick to fall for someone else even after such a brutal and life threatening attack. Maybe thats just me. I am thankful I have not had to face something like that. Then the wrap up just seemed to easy for someone who had evaded arrest so easily. It does have a religious undertone but its not a bad reflection on religion which was actually kind of nice.Regardless, the ending is a happy one in a sense. And everything I think is wrapped up quite nicely. Although I wonder if Corey ever did get to give his sermon or not.
I gave it five stars because the book kept me engage I am very glad that I do not go by other peoples rating reviews because the book was very good I hope there's a series
Enjoyed the characters and the mystery. The twists and discovery of the storyline kept me engaged. Would like these characters to show up again.
