I like this cookbook for preschool aged children who do not yet read because there are pictures of the ingredients. We can explore the recipe and instructions together vs me reading to my son. The recipes are appropriate for cooking with my 3 year old.My criticism is that beyond the obvious gender bias of the title, the children pictured are mostly female. I chose this book because it was the best I found with illustrations that a 3 year old could understand, but wish there were a version with less of a gender bias.
I would love a cookbook for kids that has more healthy based recipes. This one isn't bad...great beginner. But there are quite a few recipes I'll skip right over with my daughter. It's a good start for her to get to know cooking terms and measurements since there are pictures. It's a great entry level cookbook.
Most recipes are not practical and require purchasing special items to make desired items. So, it was frustrating when she wanted to make recipes and we did not have required ingredients.
Super cute cookbook! Have this as a birthday gift to a 4 year old. Loved how the tools you need list showed pictures so even the non reading kids can be part of reading the recipe.
I think this is one of the best kids cookbooks out there. It has lots of nice pictures so that if my little guy (5 yrs) really wanted to, he would probably do fairly well making something with just a little supervision.

Bought for my great granddaughter and she loves to cook at the age of 4 ~
We purchased this cookbook for my daughter and granddaughter because they do a lot of cooking together. I love the visual guide for the kids since my granddaughter is four and learning to read. However, I didn't give it 5 stars because some of the recipes seemed a little time consuming and I don't know how often they will be made given their busy schedules. It is a cute cookbook though and I'm sure they will enjoy some of the recipes.
